Industry Experience

David’s clients are private and emerging growth companies and their founders, venture capitalists and other private company investors. He has represented numerous institutional investors and early stage companies in a variety of complex commercial transactions including equity and debt financings. David’s past work as fund counsel to multiple venture funds over many years offers his clients a sophisticated, top-to-bottom understanding of the venture capital ecosystem.

David regularly advises private companies, including venture capital portfolio companies, on general operational matters such as founders’ agreements and other organizational matters, equity compensation arrangements, and commercial agreements with third parties. In addition, David advises leading academicians on their commercial consulting activities.

Prior to joining Faber, David was a senior associate with Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian where he represented numerous top tier venture funds from formation stage through day-to-day operations. He started his legal career at Ropes & Gray.

  • Representation of MIT researcher in connection with his commercial consulting relationship (and related equity compensation) with an angel investor backed expansion microscopy company licensing technology from his laboratory

‍David is active in various charitable endeavors in the community. He serves on the Board of Directors of various local non-profit organizations, including the Weston Dads Foundation, a local non-profit that encourages strong bonds between fathers and children in the community.
